Please read these terms carefully before using Lumina Vote to vote, buy tickets, or organize an event.
1. About Lumina Vote
Lumina Vote is an online voting and ticketing platform built and operated by Campus Plug Technologies ("we", "us", "our"). We allow organizers to create voting competitions and ticketed events, and allow the public to cast paid votes or buy tickets for those events. By using this site, you agree to these Terms of Service.
2. Accounts
Organizers and contestants may create accounts to manage events, track votes, or view results. You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Provide accurate information when signing up.
3. Voting
- Each vote is a paid transaction — payment confirms and credits the vote to the contestant selected.
- Vote counts are recorded as soon as payment is confirmed and update in real time on the event's results page.
- Organizers set the price per vote and the rules of their own competition (eligibility, voting window, and how a winner is decided).
- Votes can be cast on our website or by USSD (dialing our short code from any phone, no internet required) — both are charged and credited the same way.
- Votes are final once confirmed. See our Refund Policy for what happens if a payment goes wrong.
4. Tickets
Ticket purchases are confirmed by payment and issued with a unique QR code for entry. Tickets can be bought on our website or by USSD; USSD purchases still require an email address so your QR code can be sent to you. Organizers are responsible for their own event details, capacity, and check-in process. Lumina Vote provides the platform to sell and verify tickets; the event itself is run by the organizer.
5. Organizer responsibilities
Organizers are responsible for the accuracy of their event listings, contestant information, pricing, and for delivering the event as described. Lumina Vote does not guarantee the outcome, fairness beyond what the platform records, or occurrence of any third-party event listed by an organizer.
6. Payments
Payments are processed through a licensed third-party payment provider. We do not store your card or mobile money PIN. Once a payment is confirmed by the provider, the corresponding vote or ticket is credited automatically.
7. Prohibited use
- Attempting to manipulate vote counts outside of normal paid voting.
- Creating fraudulent events, contestants, or ticket listings.
- Using stolen payment details or attempting chargebacks on confirmed votes/tickets.
- Interfering with or attempting to disrupt the platform's normal operation.
We reserve the right to suspend accounts or events that violate these terms.
8. Limitation of liability
Lumina Vote is provided "as is." While we work to keep the platform accurate and available, we're not liable for losses arising from event cancellations, organizer decisions, or circumstances outside our control (such as network or payment provider outages).
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Lumina Vote after changes means you accept the updated terms.
